CASTLEVANIA (SEASON 4—FINAL SEASON)

After four years on Netflix, this great show has finally hit it's end point and it got an awesome conclusion trust me. Before we get started, I think a little recap of season three will be appropriate as I'm sure a lot of us have forgotten what happened in the previous season or like myself with a foggy memory of the events in the season. The season has a complex storytelling, that follows Trevor and Sypha on their mission to stop a cult in a village called Lidenfeld, Saint Germain and the Infinity corridor are also introduced in this part of the story. Alucard's arc was about his encounter with two slaves,Taka and Yumi; it ended in betrayal. Hector's arc was about his dealing with the Vampire sisters that were formerly in Dracula's cult(Carmilla, Lenore, Striga and Morana) and lastly, Isaac's arc was about his devotion to Dracula's will even after his master's passing. He was eventually involvd in showdown with a mad old wizard. This is just a concise breakdown and you might actually want to really catch up on the previous season if you haven't. With all that out of the way let's get into season four.
It seems the mantra of this season is '...stop reacting and start acting' this is slotted into character lines occasionally in this season and the events of at the start of this season is all about that. The plot is still a complex one. The plot follows the story of Sypha and Trevor, Alucard, Isaac and Hector, and the four sister vampires. While the plot follows some of these characters, the overarching story is about some people trying to bring back Dracula from hell for their own selfish reasons. The climax of it all eventually brings some of our favourites character together against a common enemy.
Just a quick breakdown of the plot, Sypha and Trevor are still wandering through Europe taking down night creatures and vampires; their wanderings eventually links them up with the overarching plot. Isaac has got a score to settle with Hector for his betrayal, but a twist awaits at the end of this one. This part led to one of the biggest fight scenes in this season. Alucard in this season is still trying to adapt to his new reality. He eventually finds someone that intrests him. We also get more look into Saint Germain's character and how he lost his lover in the infinite corridor. It's so hard to delve into this season without spoiling the season so I'll stop the gist about the plot here.
The animation and art are spectacular as ever. The series hasn't disappointed in that department since season one. Maybe it's because of the final season but it's hard not to notice how beautifully animated the series is during its fight scenes. Perhaps extra work and effort is put into it. This season is also ten episodes long making the whole series from one to four, thirty-two episodes long.
I really enjoyed my time watching season four of Castlevania. If you dropped this series along the way I would recommend you pick it back up and watch it's conclusion. It's worth it, and you won't be disappointed.
