SPACE SWEEPERS

In the year 2092 the earth has become almost unhabitable, fleeing the dying planet a giant corporation called UTS creates a new home in space for those chosen to be worthy by the corporation founder; James Sullivan. A man consumed by ambition and desperately trying to colonize mars. Sounds like you know who the villain is already in this one.

You will be spending most of the run time of this movie with the 'Victory crew' consisting of Captain Jang, Tiger park, Bubs, and Tae-Ho. All whom have interesting pasts. They scavenge junks in space for living and no matter how they try to make profit they keep swimming in debt. Their lives are turned around when they find a child aboard a spacecraft they scavenged.

One of the impressive highlights of this movie for me was the Nigerian pidgin accent. I don't know about the actor that acted the character Kraum but he did a very good job with his accent that was spot on and relateable. I also noticed other languages used in this movie. When I checked online I discovered they were praised by the native speakers of the various language for the good intonations and accent. I guess this a huge bravo to the directors. I can say this is something Hollywood movies/directors are guilty of. I'm sure you can agree with me on this when you watch their movies where they call someone a Nigerian and his/her English doesn't even sound close to a Nigerian or the actor/actress struggles so hard to fake the accent. It's always a thing to ignore when that happens. 

To be honest, I don't have much to say about this movie, visually it's really good, it's a CGIfest, the Victory Crew will also keep you entertained throughout. It's just another movie that shows how much Korean movie industry is really putting itself out there to impress the global audience and they are doing a really good job. Some people will ask when did Korean movies/tv series got this good? Well, it's with movies like this that will give you an idea because you can barely tell that it is not a Hollywood blockbuster movie.

'Space Sweepers' is a movie that feels like it's highly inspired by a movie like 'Guardians of the Galaxy' but has it's own interesting twists to it. Overall I will say it's an entertaining watch and you should give it a shot especially if you've been hearing a buzz about it.
