BOSS LEVEL

So, I finally got some time to check out this movie. 'Boss Level' is another one of those time loop movies. In case you're wondering what time loop movies are. Here are some examples: Edge of tomorrow, Looper, Triangle, Happy Death Day and ARQ; to mention a few. If you've seen any of those movies, you know what I'm talking about.

The premise is not new, the main character, Roy, is stuck in a time loop. Constantly repeating same day and doesn't get past a certain time or event. We're not strangers to time loop movies concept and this one falling into that category. I was interested in how this one was going to play out. 

The premise of this movie is very simple. Roy, a retired military captain, divorced and an alcoholic find himself in a time loop and spends the rest of the movie learning and figuring out the loop.

For this one, we're on a ride of 1 hour 40 minutes and I can assure you this. You won't get bored. If there is one thing this movie does well. It is keeping its audience attention. You'll always be eager to see how Roy attempt to break the loop on each tries shown.

Frank Grillo does a good job keeping us entertained in this movie, while the movies doesn't do anything mind blowing it's really entertaining with its narrator focused style(just like Deadpool's fourth wall approach). The stunt work is also really great.

CGI is not the best but it served it purpose. A lot of fights, shooting and explosions awaits you. 'Boss Level' is a movie that doesn't take itself serious and you shouldn't either. It's just a good old fun movie. Don't go into this movie thinking you will experience something super creative about the time loop concept. Just sit back and enjoy the entertainment.

By the time the credits roll, I only felt entertained, there was no sense of having experienced something new. 'Boss Level' didn't bring anything new or twist to the phenomenon or concept of time loop. It's just a fun movie. I would have really loved to see a movie with fresh approach, but this wasn't the movie. You can try checking it out if you're out of option on your watch list.
