THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER (FIRST IMPRESSION)

Like the just concluded 'Wandavision', bring along your MCU knowledge for this one; you will be needing it. Especially the events of 'Avengers: Endgame' and 'Captain America Trilogy'. If you're to lazy to do a catch up on the events. Here is a quick one. Also at this point, if you still haven't seen Avengers: Endgame, I'm not sure what you're doing watching this series. MILD SPOILERS WARNINGS AHEAD.
Now to the recap, at the end of 'Endgame' Captain America (Steve Rogers) set on a mission to return the stones and Mjonir to their proper timeline after Thanos was defeated. He decides to remain in the past to live with his lover, Carter. In the present timeline, a now aged Rogers passes his shield to Sam Wilson(The Falcon); La fin.
Some months have passed after the vanishing and reappearing of people during 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'; the event which is now called 'The Blip'. The Falcon and Bucky Barnes are trying to adjust to their civilian lives. Bucky is no longer under the mind control by Hydra. He is given a clean state by the government and free but his past still haunts his nightmares. The Falcon still works as a hero with the U.S. military but gets to spend more time with family.
Episode one of this series gave me a good impression of what is going to come in the later episodes. I'm not a big fan of The Falcon, but we will be watching him and Bucky try to deal with the new threat that is emerging in their world.
This might sound like a bias but hear me out first. I find the character of Bucky more interesting than The Falcon in the MCU. This might be as a result of The Falcon being a supporting character and being overshadowed by a main character like Captain America and others. My like for Bucky might also be a result of the character having a movie about him 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' or maybe it's just the cool looking cybernetics arms and his anti-hero backstory.
Anyway, that's not where we're ahead, whether they had a movie about them or not. This series is about both characters, we will be able to form a better opinion and favourite by the end of the season. Episode 1 has made me start having a like for The Falcon. His introduction in the first few minutes of this series have totally got me hooked. I will be sticking around to watch the whole season and see where everything goes.
The visuals and visual effects are impressive. It's got that big movie budget polish and feel to it. You won't really feel like you're watching a series and by the end of episode one, I wanted to see more, trust me it's that good. I think studios are really putting a lot of budget and efforts behind tv series these days.
If you're looking for a new series to add to your watchlist since 'Wandavision' season 1 is over. Definitely give episode 1 a shot, you might like it. Although it's a weekly episode release and not a full season release(just thought I should mention that). Some people might like to wait till all episodes are released before watching.
Lastly, if there is a mid-season break, I will drop a follow-up article so far on the episodes but if it's going to be a without mid season break definitely expect a round-off article about the whole season. Stay tuned and have a lovely week ahead.
